We thoughtfully group campers to support developmental growth and connection:

Ages 3–5
Play-based exploration, nature discovery, creative arts, storytelling, water play and group activities designed to nurture curiosity and confidence.

Ages 6–10
Hands-on outdoor adventures, team challenges, science experiments, creative projects and cooperative games that build independence, friendship and resilience.

Ages 11–14
Leadership opportunities, advanced projects, outdoor skill-building, collaborative problem-solving and age-appropriate adventures that foster identity, confidence and teamwork.

Each group benefits from caring mentors, intentionally small group sizes and a balance of structure and freedom.

An Outdoors-First Summer of Exploration

Camp HMLC is rooted in a simple belief: children thrive when they have space to explore, move, imagine and connect.

With an outdoors-first philosophy, we create a fun, safe environment where children can play freely, try new things, build confidence and form meaningful friendships.

Camp HMLC is intentionally unplugged. Without screens, children rediscover creativity, problem-solving, teamwork and the joy of being fully present.

Even one week of camp can spark new interests, deepen independence and lead to lifelong friendships. Campers grow socially and emotionally while having an unforgettable summer experience.

A Natural Extension of the School Year

Camp HMLC reflects the same values that guide our school-year programs:

  • Relationship-centered learning

  • Mixed-age collaboration

  • Hands-on exploration

  • Strong social-emotional development

Camp HMLC offers a low-key, low-pressure way for children and families to experience our community.

Campers explore our environment, meet our teachers and build friendships with students who attend during the school year. Families often find that camp provides an authentic glimpse into our culture: curious, kind, collaborative and joyful.

From Camp HMLC to the hearts and minds learning community

For many families, summer camp becomes the first step toward joining our school community.

Children gain familiarity with the environment, develop trust with teachers and build friendships that continue into the school year.

If your child thrives at camp and you’re considering enrollment, our team is happy to discuss next steps and program pathways. Camp HMLC can be the beginning of something lasting, a place where children not only spend their summers, but grow throughout the year.
